How old do I have to be to become a certified American Red Cross lifeguard?
Student must complete their 15th birthday on or before the end date of the course.

What are the lifeguard certification online requirements?
ONLINE PORTION
All registered students will receive the online portion to their email. Candidates must provide proof of their completion page to the Instructor upon arrival. Please allow at least 7 hours to complete all sections of the online portion
REFUNDS
In order to receive a full refund, we must receive your request 4 days prior to the start on the in-person class.
Refunds are not given to those who fail the prerequisite swim test. You are welcome to return to another class and attempt again.

What is the lifeguard certification prerequisite swim test?
SWIM TESTS

Swim 300 yards continuously

Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs

Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, exit the water without using steps or a ladder

What certifications are awarded to students who successfully complete a Lifeguarding course?
One certification is issued. The certification name is Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED and is valid for 2 years from the date of completion.
